{"id":580,"date":"2008-05-13T21:34:25","date_gmt":"2008-05-14T04:34:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bren.pintglass.org\/?p=580"},"modified":"2008-05-13T21:34:25","modified_gmt":"2008-05-14T04:34:25","slug":"openid-is-cool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brendonconnelly.com\/blog\/openid-is-cool\/","title":{"rendered":"OpenID is cool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Warning: geekiness ahead.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been using <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/OpenID\">OpenID<\/a> (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myopenid.com\/\">MyOpenID<\/a>) for a while now, but I just found a sweet little app that makes it even better. <a href=\"http:\/\/willnorris.com\/projects\/wp-yadis\">Yadis<\/a> is a WordPress plugin that allows you to use your own WP blog domain as your OpenID URL. So, http:\/\/brendonconnelly.com is now my URL, rather than http:\/\/brendon.connelly.openid.com. I like it.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, if you don&#8217;t use WP but do use MyOpenID, you can configure your account to use a custom domain. This&#8217;ll get you something like: http:\/\/openid.brendonconnelly.com. Also good, but still not quite as cool as the straight URL that Yadis provides.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have an OpenID yet, go get one. You&#8217;ll want it eventually, because who wants to remember all those passwords?
